Fall is my favorite. Hands down. There is just something romantic and cozy about the cold weather creeping in.

This farmhouse table Silas built us has been collecting memories ever since we moved into this house.
Lots of laughs, good food, and wonderful gatherings with friends have all happened in this kitchen. This year we are hosting a “friendsgiving” at our home. I am looking forward to all the new fall memories that will happen at this table.
I am normally not one for super fancy set ups, but I was so excited when this pom pom table runner and these lovely linen napkins arrived in the mail from Magic Linen. I had to set everything up, I couldn’t wait!
These linens are the most dreamy fabric ever. The @MagicLinen instagram page is what first caught my eye when I stumbled across their brand. They have a clean, minimalist setting in all their photos, which truly speaks to my style: essentially less is more. Turning the simple every day items into something beautiful.
I wanted to play around with a couple place setting ideas I have for our Thanksgiving meal with friends, and thought it would be fun to set everything up.
I am literally obsessed with these napkins. I mean, look at that lovely hand sewn pom pom edge. I thought it would be fun to pair the matching solid table runner (in the color “natural) with striped napkins (in the color “striped in natural”) This was a fun way to subtly layer textures & similar colors.
One thing I have tried to be a little more intentional about this year is taking a step back and letting my kids learn to harness their creative sides. Whether that reflects itself by letting them go crazy with paint on our farmhouse table, or having them be hands on with the home improvement projects around our house, I really want to cultivate a sense of artistic ability and hard work in their little lives.
So when I saw these lovely Japanese Cross-Back Mommy & Me Aprons, I just KNEW that June and I needed them for all the baking and creating we are going to do together this holiday season. We got them in the color “natural.” You can find the adult one here (I’m wearing a S-M), and the child’s one here (June is wearing the 7-10)
She’s at that magical age where her imagination is wild and free. But I am happy to say that my little artist has also started to take an interest in home decor. Ekkk! One of her favorite things to do is put up sayings on the DIY Letter Board Wreath that we made last fall.
I asked her to help me set up this space. She helped me make sure everything was placed in just the right spot.
Ultimately, I want my children to pursue their unique passions and dreams in life, but it always makes me happy when they find joy in doing the same things that we love.
June was with me every time I went out looking for brass candlesticks this year. We created quite the collection of antique pieces together.
Pillows are always a great way to make a space feel cozy. So I added several to our table’s bench for an extra layer of comfiness. These pillowcases are also from Magic Linen. You can find them HERE.
All of you who follow me on instagram will know my LOVE for growing pumpkins. It’s a year round hobby of mine, and it makes you really understand the phrase “the fruits of your labor.”
Other than a few plastic ones in early September, all the pumpkins used in our home during fall are home grown in our pumpkin patch out back. While he supports my weird hobby, my husband has started rolling his eyes every time I waltz in with a newly picked pumpkin. He told me we have too many… I guess he hasn’t realized that I want to expand the garden so I can grow more varieties and colors next year… Whoops. Haha!
Another fun little detail I included on the table this year are these sample candles from Antique Candle Co. I could see putting a fun little name tag tied onto each candle when we have guests over.
Yes, you are seeing correctly. I turned all my Rae Dunn backwards for a more minimal look. Haha!
I hope you enjoyed this little glimpse into our cozy dining room.
I can NOT wait to host some fun dinner parties in here during the holidays.
