I have a space I wanted to share with you all from our last house. Ironically, we finished this project just months before we ended up selling our house and moving to the A Frame.
My husband and I decided to renovate a 10×20 shed into a fun entertainment space right outside our back porch patio area.
We wanted it to be a fun continuation of the awesome outdoor space we had spent so much time creating.
It came as a hollow shell, which was perfect for us, because we could make it look exactly like we wanted to.
Transforming it was a family project!
The first part of our vision was this custom made black bar we built together.
Further along we decided on a name for our shed space- The Save A Horse (a play off the Big & Rich song)
Naturally, we had to create a neon sign to match.
The next big project was framing in our Roku TV, and creating some awesome, heavy duty floating shelves.
For the shelving, we used these incredible forged steel brackets from Crates & Pallet. You can get them at Home Depot.
If they look familiar to you, that’s because I’ve used this brand several times in my house DIY’s. I’m a huge fan. They are so strong, they can hold the weight of a grown man. Check out some of the other projects I’ve used them in: my Pantry, Kitchen, and Laundry Room.
It turned out so incredible.
Here it is all lit up with the LED light strips we installed along the shelving.
And here is the lounge space with our favorite leather sectional and our DIY neon sign.
I also kept my Gardyn in this space. We added a window unit for AC in the summer, and used a space heater in here during winter. It worked out great since we lived in NC at the time.
It was such a fun place to host friends, enjoy family nights, and have stay at home date nights.
I’m sure we will be able to recreate it at our new place someday.
But until then, this space lives rent free in my dreams.
I am so excited to have moved and be where we are now. But there are so many projects to accomplish before it feels like home.
One project I absolutely want to recreate are the floating shelves and this framed TV.
It’s such an easy project that sure brings a lot of class to a space.
That’s it for now. But you can check out my TikTok and Instagram for more views of this space on video.
