Hello friends! It’s been quite a while since I’ve posted. I just needed a break from all social media for a while. Taking time off to focus on the real things in life that matter- home and family. After a refreshing break (which turned into three or four months!) I am back full force.
I do admit that it took me a while to get back into the swing of things.
Mainly becuase time away really helps you get your priorities straight, and nothing can really beat time devoted to your family. But I do love sharing home decor and DIY’s. So as you see, I am back.
Here’s a little spring tour of our home.
There is nothing like pulling all your drawers out and turning a space inside out! We did just that several weeks ago, and it has really helped me to keep on top of making sure this kitchen stays in ship shape.
One other habit that I have worked hard on, is to make sure that there are never dirty dishes in the sink.
Having a minimal amount of every day dishes (one dish per person!) helps make sure that things don’t pile up, which makes the job of keeping them clean easier.
I also try and make sure that only our every day items are out in the open. Everything else goes into storage under the counters.
Right here you can see my most used spices: Salt and Garlic Powder (and Olive Oil!)
I love having these out for easy access.
On our open shelves, I have just the necessities:
One bowl & plate per person, some wooden cooking utensils, sugar, yeast, flour, and my homemade vanilla.
I know I’m going to get questions about our kitchen island and the painted “butcher block.” HERE is the DIY Tutorial with all the details.
This room is my peaceful space, so it brings me joy to share that beauty with you all.
I hope you have enjoyed these views from our home. Thank you for stopping by!
