I don’t know about you all, but this girl is READY for some fall weather. It’s taking everything I have to not go fall crazy with the decor. So I decided to do a subtle transition from fall to summer.
This post includes affiliate links, but I only share things that I LOVE & think you will too.
I thought I would show you all how I am changing up my decor during this the between stage of fall/summer.
Tip 1:
I am lighting all the fall candles. I especially am loving Antique Candle Co’s fall line right now. You can rad my review of each fall scent HERE.
Tip 2:
Keep true to your normal decor, but take away anything super colorful. I took out the bright blue and orange colors I had out during the summer. For this fall transition, I choose decor that was warmer, wood tones, or transparent glass.
Tip 3:
A SUPER easy way to decorate for any season without screaming “LOOK AT ME!” is word art. Unless you actually read it, it blends in. This type of decor adds another dimension to your fall decor. You can see how I made this Letter Board Wreath HERE.
Tip 4:
Turn that Rae Dunn around! I like to switch things up every now and then. Rae Dunn can be a little “too much” sometimes, so to make other items pop, I like to rotate.
Tip 5:
Break out those Jute Rugs! Jute is an awesome texture for fall! You can see the ones I have in my kitchen HERE.
Tip 6:
Keep the decor simple and minimal.
When things are simple, everything else pops.
Here’s a view looking into the kitchen from the dining room.
Tip 7:
Amber glass.
Enough said, right?
I’ve been collecting amber jars and glasses for a while now.
Some are antiques, some are from Target.
Tip 8:
Use transparent glass for subtle layering.
I used my clear and barely blue glass on my mug rack for some extra visual interest.
Tip 9:
That brings us to pumpkins. Pumpkins are optional. But I’m the crazy pumpkin lady… so I broke out the faux pumpkins that I painted to look real. See that blog post HERE.
Tip 10:
Use mixed metals! I have been slowly starting to collect copper and brass items. They look great all year, but stand out during fall!
Tip 11:
Overlap some seasonal artwork. I need to throw some fall artwork up here, but this is a great example of a summer item overlapping with the fall items.
That’s pretty much it.
This crazy pumpkin lady can’t wait for fall to be in full swing.
It’s looking super cozy over here right about now.
And I can’t wait for my real pumpkins (from my DIY home grown pumpkin patch) to make their appearances!
Cheers to fall!
