I’ve
seen people make candy jars out of mason jars or old salsa jars. Which is a great idea… but I’m not really into mason jars when
it comes to decorative jars. I like things to look a little more classy. I wanted to bring this concept to the next level.

After brainstorming a bit, it hit me!
I had a bunch in a cupboard that were almost all used up!
YAY!
So
here’s a really quick way (like only 5 minutes!) to make adorable candy jars
with stuff you already have around the house (you can’t beat free!)

You’ll need:
–Yankee Candle Jar(s) washed out.
–Candle stick(s) -I used some glass ones from the dollar store.
–Super Glue that works on glass -I suggest Gorilla Super Glue, it works best.
Trace around the candle stick where you want it to be
centered on the bottom of the jar. Glue around the circle you traced,
and around the candle stick rim. Now put them together!

Cute, huh?
Thank you Yankee Candle for making your jars so
CUTE! 🙂
Have a wonderful day!
Really like this.
Thanks Lin! <3
Great idea…I always feel like I should be reusing those Yankee Candle jars, instead of just recycling them! Now I know just what to do with them.
Glad you like it!
Any tips on getting all the old candle wax cleaned out??
Yes I do! If you have a significant amount left, then break it up using a butter knife. If there is any really stubborn wax left, then use BOILING water to get it off. It's a very similar process to my "removing labels" post.
Hope that helps!

Thanks!
How did you do the circle on I really love this.idea
Thanks! The circular one was just a little jar that we had laying around. I did the same thing (just glued a glass candle-stick to it.) I love it too!

thank you for this great idea! i'm hosting a baby shower for my son and his wife and we're doing a candy buffet and cake pops for the sweets. i did what you described above and am using up my old yankee candle jars…but never thought of gluing them to glass candlesticks at the dollar store no less….wahla!!!! great topiary jars for a fraction of the cost….what a life saver you are!
I know! I love how adorable this is, and it cost like nothing! Glad you made them! 🙂
I am considering this option to store loose-leaf teas as they are best when stored in an air-tight container. My concern, however, is the lingering scent of candle fragrance within the lid's gasket. Has anyone found any information indicating whether it is actually safe to store food in a cleaned out candle jar?
