This season is my favorite. It has all those cozy feels and is the perfect time to be present and create memories.
I wanted to share some photos of our mudroom refresh- all pretty and ready for some fall gatherings & thanksgiving.
But first, here’s a photo I snapped of my boys drinking hot cocoa this morning.
It’s SO important to be able to press pause on the crazy world and just be present in specific moments in your life. Today was one of those days when I embraced the imperfect, took a step back and smiled. Two of our kids were ridding around like crazy on a scooter inside the house. One was at the table drawing, and my husband was making coffee. I realized that in this moment I was experiencing life in it’s perfect form. My kids were happy & having fun, and I just felt a sort of cozy love radiating around me. It was like Christmas morning meets heaven.
I’m not going to say that that “life is perfect” feeling happens all the time, or even every week. But its so important to recognize and embrace those moments when they do happen.
I believe in working hard to make your world more beautiful.
Often we stress and worry more than we should.
At the end of life, I want to look back and remember those perfect moments, frozen in time. Because that is what life should be about. Not all the crazy hectic things that stress us out.
I believe in being grateful and content in whatever stage you are in.
We didn’t start out our marriage in a beautiful home. We had to work hard to get to this point. But the important thing was that we focused on each other throughout the process. Our relationship came first. And together we made wherever we happened to live at the time a home.
From starting our marriage out in a cabin that was heated by a wood burning stove (with no bathroom inside!), to apartments, to base housing, to our first purchased house… and finally to our current “dream home.” We could start the cycle over again, and I would still find those happy moments that I want to freeze in time and think… that day… that moment was perfect.
