Hello Friends! I can’t believe that Christmas is NEXT WEEK. Ah! Where did the time go?! It’s been crazy over here. I kid you not… all three kids (and the puppy!) took turns getting super sick, one after the other… so maybe that’s how Christmas snuck up on me.
I really meant to share these photos with you guys earlier… but like I said, I’ve been playing nurse for the past several weeks.
So now I can finally share this mini tour of our living room with you all.
I went for “cozy” in this space. The whole design kinda revolved around my DIY mantle. I made these stockings a couple years ago. I picked fun, vintage looking fabric designs off etsy & sewed them all by hand.
I wanted it to look “classic” and “vintage.”
The kids and I made these adorable DIY snow globe mason jars (see the tutorial HERE!). We added the THESE bottle brush trees, the cutest model cars with Christmas trees on top, and THESE adorable animal figures.
The whole space looks eclectic & classy.
I used THIS garland and THESE wooden beads to layer over the fireplace, and I put clothespins on the bead garland to hang the stockings on.
I kept the rest of the room pretty minimal, but I did hang some cute wreaths on my architectural salvage for a whimsical look. Don’t mind the tape on my TV cords- we will eventually drop them. Haha!
Just little simple touches of winter and Christmas here and there… I tried to stay away from any thing too “new” or “store bought” looking. The homemade touches gave the whole space more of an old world look.
These wooden nativity blocks are my “kid friendly” alternative to the glass figurines I grew up with. You can see how to make your own (along with the template!) HERE. All you need is a 2×4 and a jig saw.
I took a million and one photos of the kids and puppy in front of the fireplace… Do you know how hard it is to get them all looking at once? Yep. It’s impossible.
But their matching PJ’s make up for it. Haha!
