Hey friends! I thought I would share our fall family living room tour with you all today!

It’s been a pretty busy month so far… but who am I kidding, with three little ones at home it’s always busy.
I am really trying hard to be present in their little lives right now. You only get to spend so many years with your kids, so focusing on spending time with them has been my number one priority.
I’m not saying all this to make myself seem like the “perfect mom,” or even a “great mom.” Becuase believe me, I fail so many times… I lose my patience a bit too much… and lately I’ve caught myself feeling overwhelmed & stressed out.
One thing I’ve been trying to do lately is simplify & organize so that I can stay on top of it all.
With all that said, I’m going to let you in on a little secret… my living room NEVER looks this good. Like ever. This is the cleanest my living room will ever look… in photos that I will always cherish… frozen in time. Haha!
Some of my favorite instagram and blogs I follow always have it “all together.” And guess what- most of them are in a different season in their lives… most of them don’t have kids, and that’s why their houses always look so pretty & put together. This is the season I am in, and I have to tell myself that it’s okay for it to look a little crazy here and there.
But it’s also okay for me to maintain some semblance of normal & tidy. So last week, I took it upon myself to clean and organize this space… and I stayed up hours past my bedtime (once my kiddos finally went to sleep) to do everything from hide the TV cords, to stripping the couch cushions and pillow covers off and giving them a much needed wash.
If you look close at the TV, you will notice that we still haven’t dropped the cables in the wall (I mean, we’ve been here for like 7 months- it’s about time to do that! Haha!) and there are tiny hand prints all on the lower corner of the TV… whoopsie… didn’t see that until I edited these photos.
But that’s okay. This is real life guys… and my house is really lived in. So there will occasionally be cute messy hand prints on my TV’s and mirrors.
But, I have to be honest- I moved the baby bouncer, pack and play, and all the other baby stuff out so I could take nice photos. Becuase let’s face it, ya’ll don’t want me to be THAT real, right? Ha!
It’s just the stage of life I am currently in. But it’s also okay for me to try to get on top of it all, even if it won’t stay that way for long! It just helps me be more productive & present when things are clean.
Anyhow, one thing I am excited to share with you guys are these adorable crate planters I made with Crates & Pallet’s forged steel hairpin legs & their gorgeous crates. These cuties can be used outside or as home decor. I am going to be sharing a tutorial on how I made them soon- so stay tuned!
Another tutorial I am going to be sharing is this adorable farmhouse coffee table using these gorgeous legs from Osborne Wood.
That’s right, you heard me. This table was a DIY, and it’s NOT an antique. But it sure is becoming one in our house with how much it gets used on a daily basis. Haha!
Another thing I recently built, is this arched architectural piece I put above our TV. I needed something large & unique to fill up the large wall it’s on. Originally I had planned to hide the TV with barn doors, and put art on the sides. But I am actually kind of loving how it looks in it’s current state, and I don’t mind the TV showing as much.
I love how this space is gradually becoming more cozy. Dressing it up for fall has been a blast.
Can we all just take a moment to appreciate how good my heirloom pumpkins look in these crates?
I will probably cry a little when I have to take all my pumpkins down to make way for Christmas decor. Don’t get me wrong, I am super excited to decorate for Christmas & winter. But I am kinda digging how my house looks like all prettied up for fall.
I mean, how freaking gorgeous does my banister look next to all this fall goodness?
Yeah, I admit that I totally painted my banister black with fall in mind.
Painting it was origionally a temporary fix, but I think it might be a permanent one now.
The black banister adds such a modern, yet traditional farmhouse look to our entry.
So that’s pretty much all for now. I think this is the first time I’ve really shared this whole space (and not just a section of it)
Go HERE to see what our house looked like (popcorn ceilings and all!) before we purchased it & started renovations.
I hope you all enjoyed seeing my “kidless for the moment” living room. How cool would it be if it just looked like this all the time? But seriously, this house is made for living. And all in all, I am just so grateful to have this pretty home to make heaps & mounds of great memories with my sweet family.
