Happy November!
Instead of painting a bunch of artwork all at once, I like painting each monthly watercolor piece as I feel inspired. I kind of just let each month speak to me. For November, I really wanted to incorporate some warm tones for that harvest feel.
This month’s artwork is a little unique. When I paint a scene, I usually based it off of several landscapes. But this month, the most beautiful mountains caught my eye in Hannah from @BallerinaFarm‘s instagram stories. Her family owns a cow and pig ranch in Utah, and they are pretty much living my “Little House On The Prairie” dreams. She has shown these mountains on instagram several times, and they always take my breath away.
So I just had to paint a scene based off of this view from @BallerinaFarm. Fun fact, the little speckled dots on the field are supposed to represent their cattle. I don’t know what the name of these mountains are, but I’m just going to go with “Ballerina Farm Mountain.” I’m hoping that Hannah will let me mail her this painting & use it in the house they are building for their family on this stunning property.
You really NEED to go check out her instagram. She shares insta stories featuring their daily life as ranchers, and spares no detail on the chores and hard work involved in the process. It’s seriously addicting.
