Hey Everyone! So I have some super cool news. If you follow me on Instagram, you will have seen this coming… because I post all sorts of crazy stuff on there… like this photo above…
Yeah… this is me in a make shift hazmat suit (gas mask and trash bags over my feet) because we were house looking and our Realtor wouldn’t let “pregnant me” go into this particular house otherwise. We put an offer in on this same foreclosed house (it was priced well below 50% market value!!! Great investment property!) but it had major issues… Like the previous owners had a pig INSIDE the house and it… Umm… Ruined all the flooring (think nightmare house on like flip or flop, but 100 times worse!) thus the hazmat suit… Even though we were the only ones to come see it (it had only been on the market one day) there were 12 other offers and we were out bid.
So long story short, Silas and I are the crazy type of people who want to buy messed up houses that have potential.
The very first house we wanted to buy was a adorable 1940’s cottage on the coast. I loved it’s historical charm… but it had major mold… so that one didn’t work out.
After that came a shortsale that we loved, but that one fell through after 4 months of waiting on the bank. They took too long to approve the sale and the seller had to declared bankruptcy….
And you have already heard about our disappointment of not getting the “pig house” (okay, that one is kind of a relief to me now, haha!)
So we picked up our feet and kept on looking, and then finally it happened. We found a wonderful little three bedroom house that was not only a great deal, but only in need of small updates, which is great considering it is the first house we have bought.
So now I am having the time of my life cleaning, organizing, and making it feel like home in our new house. Not to mention I’m in MEGA nesting mode, with the baby’s due date only a month away! 🙂
I can’t wait to share more photos of the new house with you all! We have some super fun ideas for this place!
Anyhow, that’s the 411. Be expecting to see lots of nursery posts here soon!
XOXO
