I don’t know about you, but browsing social media (especially pinterest & instagram) gives me way to many “good ideas” LOL!
The latest one was to do a garland of Christmas tree branches over our kitchen doorway.
June and I watched How The Grinch Stole Christmas the other day (her first time!) and I heard him say, “If I can’t find a reindeer I’ll make one myself.” and I burst out laughing!
I was like: “That perfectly sums up my brain. Guess Mr. Grinch and I are kindred DIY spirits!”
Jason approves of my craftiness though. Ps. He’s my favorite thing in this photo!
I LOVE the garland, but…
I’m afraid it’s going to have the same issues as this one I put up in our living room last week. June came up to me holding three sections, saying, “I sorry mom. I no more put my feet up on the window.”
What? Lol!
She also plugs the Christmas tree lights (and turns on all the LED ones she can reach) before we wake up even though she knows she’s not allowed to. Such a stinker! She LOVES Christmas.
The garland only took me about 20 minutes to put it together from my free Christmas Tree branch pile form Lowes. I just used black rubber bands (the type you can buy in bulk at the dollar store) to attach the branches together, and small nails on top of my door molding to hold it up. I used 4 nails all together.
I wish I was filthy rich and could afford to splurge on a professional garland, but this works just fine. I actually think it’s really pretty.
I also made my own wreaths out of completely organic materials: Vines, branches & twine.
Looks good enough to me!
Well, that’s it for now. Off to the next DIY (with my buddy Mr. Grinch! LOL)
Hahaha! This is perfect 🙂
free Christmas tree branch pile from Lowe's? I never knew they had a free pile! Is it only available after Christmas?
