There is nothing like spring to motivate people to get on top of their organization game! We really try our best not to hold onto “stuff.” I think society lies to us, telling us that we need more “things” in our life.
When it comes to things in our home, I like to narrow it down to two questions:
-Does it serve a purpose?
-Is it something of quality that is beautiful?
Having these two requirements has really helped me purge down and keep life simple. Less stuff = less messes to clean up.
This handmade table is one of my favorite things in our home. You can see how we built it HERE.
One of the few areas in our home that I let my eclectic collections go wild is in this hutch in our dining room. But I try to still keep to that purposeful & pretty mindset.
I love how you can look across the dining room into the kitchen now. There used to be a wall in between these rooms. Crazy, right?!
Hanging next to our pot wall rack (tutorial HERE) is the kitchen conversion chart I designed for House Hathaway (HERE)
On the wall behind the farmhouse table, is our Letter Board wall (also from House Hathaway)
One last source- I always get questions on this pallet barn door hutch. Here is the DIY (Part 1, and Part 2)
I hope you enjoyed this little tour of our kitchen/dining room.
I’ve just stumbled upon your blog, searching for the German schmear brick wall, and I’m stuck 🙂
All of your projects are stunning!
Can’t believe no one commented on this post :/
Thank you!!! <3
