Next stop in my Holiday Home Series: Our A Very Merry Farmhouse Christmas Bedroom!
Things have been pretty quiet around my blog lately. In all honestly, I have been trying to take a step back and do less this year. I want to be a good mommy to my little ones. Being happy and healthy is my number one priority, so no more blogging graveyard shifts for me! Haha!
I have been working on some projects around the house just “for me” though, because I find scheduled blogging sucks the joy out of creating sometimes. By taking the time to just create beautiful things without the pressure of having to “document it,” I have ended up with some wonderful things to share with you! And I have a whole house full of Christmas to share with you all!
So let’s start the tour off with my Christmas Farmhouse Master Bedroom.
Some of you may have seen the step by step process I have shared on instagram of building this lovely chippy mantel. I am finally making good use of it in our bedroom, and it is currently serving as a home to our stockings.
I love everything to be fresh & clean in my room. It’s the one place my kids don’t (errr, don’t normally) trash. So cheers to not overdoing it with decor.
I hand sewed these adorable stockings with fabric from spoonflower. I am seriously in love with how the represent us each as individuals. My great grandmother made us all stockings growing up, so this was something I really wanted to do for my kids… even though I was seriously tempted to just go the easy route and do store bought!
The seaglass & natural wood theme we have going in our room was just calling for some aqua blue christmas decor!
I like to bring in very subtle hints of nature. Normally I would uproot an actual tree or something, but I found these adorable baby pines and had to use them throughout my house.
Some people would tell me I have too much white in my house. I don’t care. It makes everything else I have that does have color pop!
I like being able to spread out color evenly throughout the rooms I decorate. For example, I added a splash of blue on the chair with some pretty ornaments, and some matching vintage bottles across the room.
Last year I became obsessed with copper christmas lights. I mean, if you have to have a cord, flaunt it!
Tis is the one wall in the room that is free of Christmas spirit.
Some of you all might recognize this frame from above my bed… Well, I decided to see what it would look like above my mantel, and I actually discovered it was the perfect length. So above the mantel is it’s home for now.
My husband used to cut firewood for us when we lived in the cabin… Like legit cut firewood stuff: chainsaw the tree, chop the wood, grow muscles stuff, lol. I do really miss that part of our life, which is why I impulse built this fireplace.
One of my husbands friends at work was cutting some trees down and offered to give us some of the wood. I just wish I could have seen how that conversation went:
Husband: “So, my crazy wife is making me build her a fireplace that doesn’t burn wood. Oh, and she’s scraping the heck out of it to make it look old and gross”
Friend: “I’ll make your life easier & give you some real wood to put in it.”
Or at least, that’ how I imagine their conversation went. Lol!
I will have to do a tutorial for how I built my fireplace, but for now, just enjoy the fruit of my labor and stare at that chippy paint goodness.
I will admit, it’s taking everything for me to not paint the firewood box white.
I am super excited because I have more rooms in my house to share the holiday spirit with you all!
So stay tuned for some more eye candy, and of course some tutorials on the finished products.
Hope you all enjoyed this little glimpse into our Christmas Farmhouse Master Bedroom.

Thanks so much for sharing your decorations with us. Absolutely love the red trucks among the white and sea green. I haven’t seen the lights with the copper wire, looks like I’m heading to TJ Maxx. Merry Christmas.
