Today I wanted to share a littleĀ peek into our farmhouse style master bedroom.
So I am finally getting around to showing you all my bedroom… in it’s “complete for now” form… because you know I can’t leave a space alone for too long!
We ditched the flat-screen on the dresser! Yay! Okay, I really took a baseball bat to it so my husband wouldn’t have a choice… JK! He is being so sweet and letting me get my way. But seriously though, it looks completely WAY better! (see the before HERE)
Natural light is a big issue to me, especially since we just have one window in this room. The walls used to be creamy yellowish, which was fine, but what I love about painting the room white is how it makes EVERYTHING pop, and makes the room look so much brighter.
I love the subtle look, so rustic white on white is AMAZING to me. You can see how I made this hand painted love letter artwork HERE.
If you haven’t noticed, I also love the transparent sea-glass look everywhere in my home, and my nightstands are no exception.
See my Nightstand Tutorial HERE.
We built this massive 7 foot long storage bench to hide all my junk because we literally have a tiny walk in closet. I’ll have to do a tutorial on this baby for you guys. And yes, I used pool noodles for the arms!
Our room is really pretty small, but everything in it serves a purpose. But I have been informed by my husband that we have too many pillows… which end up on the floor… Hmmm. I’ll have to find away around that one… maybe the is an opportunity for another massive basket! It’s a cycle. #basketaddict #pillowaddict #repeat
To me, your bedroom should be a calming oasis. I knew we had hit the nail on the head when my husband told me that our room is even more relaxing than a being on vacation… or maybe he just said that because we just stay at inexpensive hotels.. LOL!See my Headboard Tutorial HERE.
The only thing I would add is wood floors. Oh, and an arched ceiling with beams, shiplap… and more windows…
I can kind of be a minimalist, but I seriously love the clean feel. It’s addicting.
One way to really make a room feel clean is to use plants. They are a must in my bedroom, because they just makes me feel happy!
And the pallet obsession also found its way into our room via our dresser and bed.
And no, my bed isn’t made every morning… but it is right before my husband gets home from work, because I don’t want him to realize he married a slob… wait… it’s too late for that! Seriously though, my closet is next on the organize to do list though (my clothes are all over the floor… just in case you thought I was perfect!)
Ahhh! I love this space.
Just have to say that we have come a long way form the air mattress we used two years ago. But we really spent so little money on the space, which means a lot to me, because I think it’s such a beautiful space, and is so personal to us.
Can’t wait to share some of the DIY’s from this space with you all!
This is beautiful! My kids would destroy it lol. I try to keep them out of my room but they are all bad about running through every room in the house in the middle of a good game of hide and seek.
Lol- my kids love jumping on our bed, pulling upholstered buttons off the tufted headboard, and throwing the pillows everywhere. Thankfully most the loose stuff is still out of reach form the one year old. š
Love your master bedroom – so fresh & calm!
