DIY Oatmeal Flour Using Blender {Healthy and Delicious Alternative to Bleached Flour}

First off, I am NOT a health freak. I like my fried chicken &
sweets. But I do want to make sure my family isn’t getting overly
processed foods.
My
mom fed us waaaaaaay too much oatmeal, so I have personally pretty much
lost my taste for stove top oatmeal. But this is sooo delicious in
flour form.

I like to bake, and while I don’t grind my own wheat, I try not to only use All Purpose White Flour. White Flour is covenant, pretty, and tastes good. However, I hate feeding my family something that has had the nutrients stripped from it to make it more appealing to our taste buds. I picture it like eating saw dust. Sorry, not a great mental picture!
So, to stay away from “saw dust flour,” I’ve been supplementing with things like Flax Seed flour (which has a wonderful nutty taste) and OATMEAL FLOUR! 🙂
This stuff tastes really yummy, and has a long shelf life, and you DON’T NEED A FANCY/EXPENSIVE WHEAT GRINDER. My kind of healthy.
This can be substituted, cup for cup, with any regular flour.

All you have to do is:
Pour however much you want into your blender.
Press Pretty Much Any Button I used Liquify as I figured it was probably one of the more powerful settings.
And lastly, Pulse It until it is at your desired consistency.
I was pretty impressed how my standard blender could turn oatmeal into a fine flour.
This tastes great in baked goods (Muffins, pancakes, cookies, cakes… I even sneak it into my pizza dough and no one notices!)
If I’m putting it in something I don’t want it to stand out in, I only switch it out for 1/4 the amount of flour called for in the recipe.
One more Blender Tip: If you want your veggies super fine in soup, just stick them in WHOLE (or in large chunks) in your blender with some broth  it makes them so fine… like you had grated them with a Parmesan cheese grater!
Hope you try it out! It’s so easy & worth it for your health (and it’s great on your taste buds too!)
