Make Your Own Bisquick Pancake Mix!

I wanted to share with you all one of my favorite recipe knock offs.
Bisquick Pancake Mix!
You can make lots of yummy things with this stuff. My husband and I basically lived on this stuff when we first got married.
(Hope you aren’t reading this, Mom! :P)

So here is my version. Works just as good but a fraction of the price & no worries about what may be in it, because you know exactly what you put into it!
To make 11 cups of the mix, you will need the following:
  • 10 cups Flour
  • 1/2 cup Baking Powder
  • 2 heaping Tablespoons Sugar
  • 2 heaping Tablespoons Salt
  • 1 1.4 cup Olive Oil
  • 10 Tablespoons dry buttermilk mix
Add all your dry ingredients in a mixer bowl, mix them together really well, then add your olive oil. It will be chunky and kinda lumpy, but that’s good! Try to combine everything very evenly.

This stuff has a long shelf life too! No need to refrigerate!
I just cut out all the recipes from the Bisquick Box and taped them onto my pancake mix container. You could also just write them out int your cookbook (I was just too lazy I guess 🙂

One thing I have considered is adding healthy alternative flours to make it more nutritious. Like homemade oatmeal flour or flax seed flour.
Hope you give it a try, and that it saves you pancake lovers a few bucks!

  3. Rachel says:

How much water do you put in this mix when making it? Eggs? What is the ratio of mix to water?

  4. Anonymous says:

Do you think I could use coconut oil verses olive oil? And would it be the same amount as the olive oil?

  5. Hannah says:

I'm sure that would work fine. As far as conversions just run a quick google search to see if there is any difference. Let me know how it turns out! 🙂
