The legendary letter board holiday wreath made an appearance, naturally.

I know these tin bells look vintage, but you can actually buy them on Amazon, Etsy, or even eBay. HERE’S where I got some of mine.

You know, I just realized that I still have’t blogged this awesome butcher-block island Silas built me?! I promise to do it early next year. I’m obsessed with it.

One thing I REALLY wanted to do was a Letters To Santa Garland. So the kids and I made one & I am hoping to add to it with new letters from the kids each year.

I added the garland a little DIY letter ornaments to my Alpine Fir from Balsam Hill. This one is the 5 ft version, but I built a stand so it could be a little taller.

These gingerbread houses are actually made out of pallets. They are a hit every year, and I seriously need to make more. Check out the tutorial on how to make them HERE.

I’m a big fan of having a theme for every space. So having similar items sprinkled throughout is a must.

I LOVE using copper LED lights. This year I upgraded to plug in ones. My battery operated ones just ate through batteries too fast.

On my island I have my antique candle from Antique Candle Co. This one is Cotton Stem’s collaboration candle, “Country Pear.” I love how they make candles in one of a kind antiques. This one is my favorite.

Moving back into the dinging room portion of my kitchen, I have my hutch full of fun things like these DIY pomegranate candles, and some Christmas tree lot signs I made as homage to my husband’s family’s farm which used to be a Christmas tree farm.  How cool is that?

I got some metal mugs, after the kids broke one too many of my other ones. So these might be a permanent addition to our home decor.

The Santa mugs on the other hand.. those are all vintage finds from eBay & Etsy.

I tried to keep a good ratio of decorated spaces vs blank spaces. I find that rooms need to breathe. So having areas in the house that aren’t all decked out are a good way to balance out heavy clusters of decor in other areas.

Here’s a good example of some subtle decor next to a space left blank.

I love how a tray of cookies looks out in the open. I should seriously make some gingerbread cookies just for that purpose.

I LOVE this little home of ours. Sometimes I can’t believe how far we’ve come. It just seems like it’s always supposed to have been exactly like this.

Can you believe that there used to be a WALL separating these two spaces.

The fact that we have been the ones to renovate this house with our own two hands just makes me so proud. It’s been a TON of work, but it’s so beautiful now.

I treasure each and every memory we create together around this table as a family. Every dinner, every art project, and even the memories of building this table.

Yep you heard that right- Silas built me this table. The building plans can be found HERE.

Funny thing is that as long as this table is… I had him make me a second one so that we can add it as an extension for big gatherings like Thanksgiving… and all the art painting parties I host here. You can see both tables in this photo.
