Better Than S’mores Cupcakes!

I can never seem to master
the campfire art of making s’mores… It always ends up burnt or just falls
apart. This is the perfect compromise of these amazing textures and flavors.

I wanted to make something sweet for some friends coming over, but I didn’t really have all my usual ingredients. Rummaging through my cupboards I noticed that, being summer, I had s’mores stuff on hand… and a cake box… so thus these “Better than S’mores Cupcakes” were born!

And boy am I glad these were invented. They are sooo yummy! And they literally only took me 5 minutes prep plus cooking time!
Here is what you will need (makes 18):
1 Cake box
18 Marshmellows
3 Hersey Chocolate Bars (2 melted and one for garnishing)
1 Graham Cracker, crumbled.
Mix Cake Batter as directed.

Fill buttered pans 1/3 with the cake mix & then squish a marshmallow into the middle.
Bake at 350℉ until your marshmallow is golden brown on the top. It will take less time than cupcakes usually take, considering the marshmallow is in the middle. Just keep an eye on them.
You don’t want to cook them too long or the marshmallows will designate & you will be left with a hollow crater.
Let them rest until just warm.
Melt your chocolate garnishing, crumble your graham crackers & break apart your chocolate squares!

I like to garnish them while they are still in the pan… it’s less messy that way. Run a knife around the edges and then scoop out with a large spoon so they don’t break.

Stick the Chocolate square on top & enjoy!

Look at that “ding dong” center. My husband says they taste like a gourmet ding dong. 🙂
These are great warm or cold (especially when the chocolate is hard)
S’mores season is upon us & these are a super yummy take on this traditional summer treat! {I think that they are better than the real thing}
Enjoy!
