Hi Friends! Today I had something super fun I wanted to run by you. I really want to make my children’s childhood as “magical” as possible. I want them to use their imaginations, and I want them to realize that life is what you make it.
I recently had the idea to make a Narnia wardrobe for June’s room.
She’s used this Pallet Dresser we made her for the past 3 or so years. It’s super pretty, but she’s out grown it, and the drawer tracks are falling apart.
Insert my idea for a wardrobe.
Below is a digital mock up of what I had in mind. I’m a very visual person, so I like to physically piece together my concept in photoshop & plan out structure, texture & color.
I tend to do either white or blue in my furniture painting… This time I thought it might be fun to do a chippy pink dresser, with hints of wood peeking though.
But I am also tempted to do a white/grey version with some pops of teal chipping through.
Either way, I would paint some flowers on the doors, make the piece look weathered & add a lion to represent Aslan on the top. I will probably add some additional molding details on the piece as well. I want this piece to look like it’s stood the test of time, which is challenging when building with new materials.
Since I’m painting it, I don’t feel like the piece needs to be totally authentic to the style of the original Narnia wardrobe, and I’m thinking of it as more of a “sister” piece of furniture.
So help me decide PINK or WHITE? Leave your vote in the comments.
Here are some other finishes I have considered as well:

I can’t wait to be further along in the process & show you my ideas for the inside.
This is such a fantastic idea! There needs to be a Narnia wardrobe!
I think white would be the most lovely – It is more neutral and is, in my opinion, more true to the books.
