It happens to be the most high traffic area in our house. We try to keep it pretty open so that the kids can run around & play.

We have a large sectional, so we had to get creative with it’s placement in order to fit a Christmas tree into the room, but it’s fun to switch things up occasionally.

I wanted to use LED copper lights on our tree, and I am in LOVE with their subtle twinkles. My husband hates me becuase there are like 6 strands of them and we have to hunt for their switches to turn them on and off. Haha!

My desk area is pretty simple, but always changing due to being my main workspace.

I added an adorable string of Edison Bulbs I got from Michaels a year ago. I always spray paint my cords a fun color, and this one I chose to paint gold.

I am a sucker for real trees, but because our little ones are constantly playing with it, we have a fake one for now. I always try to put old & new hand made ornaments on our trees, becuase it feels so much more homey to me that way.

This year I painted some glitter ornaments white… because you know, I don’t have enough of that color in my house.

One cute little decorating detail I did was using a little old chalkboard as a tray on our milk paint coffee table. The black texture on top of the aged wood is so pretty.

Overall, I like to keep things bright, cheerful & neutral.

But it is fun to bring a splash of color into the room! I have been collecting green and blue books lately, and I love stacking them to display decor like this little tree.

I made a nativity sign in lieu of having figurines under the tree- I didn’t see that lasting very long with two kids.
