Hello Everyone! Shock- a new post!
It seems like forever since I have pressed publish, but honestly, it’s been rough over here this month. Without going into too many details, it has taken all my energy to just be “mommy” lately. Family always comes first in my life, which sometimes results in me being a horrible blogger. I really wish I was quicker to create awesome content, but life happens. Lately, my time has been consumed with things like teaching my kids to read, telling them a bed story (every single night!), home improvement projects with my husband, and just trying to make memories as a family.
Today I wanted to share one of my favorite DIY’s ever!!! Yes, this unicorn you see is a “Do It Yourself”!!!!
For Christmas, June was told me all she wanted was a “real unicorn.” I was like, how in the heck am I going to pull that off?! But I did some brainstorming and the result was this lovely unicorn. Notice that the kids have already drawn on it… (the little orange v on the chest- lol!)
Well, long story short, June was ecstatic to find out Santa had delivered.
She’s already told me she wants a “real pegasus” next… (nope- not happening!)
Even though this project was impossibly hard compared to my other stuffed animal creations (check them all out HERE), and being a former (*cough* current *cough*) child myself, I knew that having a unicorn would be a pretty epic thing!
This labor of love will give my daughter some seriously magical childhood memories.
Cute story: We have an 8 year old neighbor who came over to play, and I asked him if he had seen June’s unicorn yet. He told me that he didn’t like unicorns, and that they were only for girls. Then he walked into June’s room, and all I heard was “Oh my goodness!” I peeked into the room to see him sitting on it, pretending to ride. Yep… boys aren’t immune from the magic of this unicorn! LOL!
I’m so in love with this sweet addition to my baby girl’s room. I’ll hopefully be putting up a post with some behind the scenes photos of the process of creating it, but in the meanwhile, here are some more photos to enjoy.
Well, that’s it for now. XO
Oh my! It's so gorgeous!!!
Please tell me how you did this!
Thank you !!
